Jefferson City, Mo. – Attorney General Josh Hawley today applauded Governor Eric Greitens’ creation of a statewide Prescription Drug Monitoring Database.
“Today’s first step toward a prescription drug monitoring program in Missouri is long overdue,” Hawley said. “I brought suit against major opioid manufacturers last month to start the fight to end the opioid epidemic in our state. A prescription drug monitoring database is critical to that effort.”
Last month, Attorney General Hawley filed suit against three of the nation’s largest manufacturers of opioid drugs, alleging fraud.
“Our effort to secure justice for the victims of the drug companies’ deceit is ongoing, and I look forward to working with the Governor and other leaders across our state to end the opioid epidemic in Missouri,” Hawley said.
